1. Information We Collect

We collect the following personal information when you register and use TradieAus:

Business name, full name, email address, phone number, and ABN
Client details you enter (name, email, phone, address)
Job, quote, and invoice records you create
Compliance documents and photos you upload
Payment information processed through PayPal (we do not store card details)
Usage data such as login times and feature usage

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to:

Provide and maintain the TradieAus platform and its features
Send transactional emails (quotes, invoices, review requests, password resets)
Send SMS notifications for quote acceptance events
Process subscription payments via PayPal
Provide customer support
Improve the platform based on usage patterns

3. AI-Powered Features

TradieAus uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate quotes and provide in-app assistance. Job descriptions and trade details you provide are sent to the AI service to generate quotes. This data is processed in real-time and is not stored by the AI provider beyond the request.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure in Sydney, Australia. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security policies, and secure authentication. Uploaded files (photos, documents) are stored in encrypted cloud storage.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate TradieAus:

Supabase — Database, authentication, and file storage
Resend — Transactional email delivery (via send.tradieaus.com.au)
Mobile Message — SMS notifications (Australian provider)
PayPal — Subscription payment processing
Anthropic (Claude) — AI quote generation and chatbot assistance
Cloudflare — Website security and performance

Each provider has their own privacy policy and processes data in accordance with their terms.

6. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Information is shared only when:

You send a quote or invoice to your client (their email receives the document)
Required by Australian law or regulation
Necessary to protect our rights or safety

7. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Opt out of marketing communications

You can delete your account and all data from Business Settings within the app, or by contacting us.

8. Cookies and Tracking

TradieAus uses essential cookies for authentication and session management only. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Cloudflare may set performance cookies as part of their security service.

9. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data, jobs, quotes, invoices, clients, compliance documents, and uploaded files are permanently removed within 30 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
